Jones-Enstrom Ice Cream Company (Grand Junction, Colorado)
An ice-cream manufacturing company created by Chet Enstrom and his business partner Harry Jones in 1929. They made ice-cream based on Enstrom's extensive knowledge gained from working for an ice-cream maker in Colorado Springs, and from courses at Iowa State University. Jones retired early. When the new partners started using inferior and cheaper ingredients, Enstrom sold the ice-cream business to Clymer's Diary. This company was also known as the Velvet Ice Cream Company.

KEXO (Grand Junction, Colorado)
A radio station that began broadcasting in 1948. According to Wikipedia, the station was licensed to Voices of Western Colorado. The station broadcasted from a downtown, Main Street storefront, where pedestrians could watch DJs inside the booth. According to Robert “Bob” Collins, a longtime radio manager, a man named Ketchman (sp.?) hired him to be what was presumably the first manager of the station in 1948. Collins had been introduced to broadcasting in the armed forces during World War II, and worked as a radio station in Ohio prior to coming to Colorado. Collins stayed at the station until 1961. The station played top-40 music for many years. According to Robert St. James, a popular DJ who worked for the station in the 1970's and 1980's, the KEXO was a "powerhouse station" with a large percentage of the listening market ("'I've loved every minute' DJ St. John retires," Daily Sentinel, September 13, 2013). KEXO moved to the 10th floor of the Alpine Bank building in the mid-1980's. It now broadcasts as ESPN Radio 96.5 FM and 1230 AM, a sports network. Its current offices are at 315 Kennedy Avenue.
