David "Dewey" Miracle
Dewey Miracle lived at Miracle Ranch on Glade Park, Colorado. He moved to the area from Kentucky in 1921 with his wife, Rachel China Miracle, and their children. According to Cordelia (Hamilton) Files, he was blind and had three children who were also blind. The children’s teacher, Cordelia (Hamilton) Files, encouraged David and his wife to send their children to the Colorado School for the Blind in Colorado Springs. As a result, both daughters learned braille and were able to have working lives as a receptionist. Their son, Virgil Miracle, became a piano tuner.
David B. Lant
A lesser-known outlaw who was buddies with Harry Tracy of the Hole in the Wall Gang. Lant and Tracy murdered Valentine Hoy, member of a posse who helped capture them in Colorado in 1898. Lant was apprehended in 1898 at Brown's Park, Colorado along with Tracy, P. L. Johnson, and Judge Bennett. Tracey and Lant were placed in the Steamboat Springs jail but escaped. They were caught and transferred to the Pitkin County jail, but escaped again. Lant and Tracey parted ways, and it is unknown what happened to Lant.
