Dr. Joseph "Joe" James Parker
-
He was born just outside of Delta, Colorado and raised in Grand Junction. He received his medical training at Colorado General Hospital in Denver, where he met his wife Lydia Parker, who was a nurse-in-training. They married, and after finishing their training came to Grand Junction, where Dr. Parker had a job as a time keeper for the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad. After finishing his medical internship, he began practicing medicine in Montrose in 1932. Then he went to Telluride, Colorado, where he helped construct Hall's Hospital and was the only doctor and surgeon for fifteen years. Subsequently, he and his family moved to Grand Junction, where he opened a private practice. According to oral history interviewee Glenn McFall, he often gave his patients treatment without payment. He was a practical joker, and used to try to get people in bars to argue so that they would start a fight.

Dr. Larry Lynn "Doc" Hahn March 21, 1936 - August 16, 2006 Well-known former Palisade resident Dr. Larry Hahn, 70, died August 16, 2006 at his residence in Molina, Colorado. Larry Lynn Hahn was born on March 21, 1936, on a farm in Phillips County, Kansas. He was the eldest child and only son of Willard Carl and Estella Irene (Jennings) Hahn. Larry grew up in the farm country of Harlan County, Nebraska. Upon graduation from Alma High School, in Alma, Nebraska, in 1954, he attended Kansas State University. After graduating with a degree in Biological Science from KSU in 1958, Larry was drafted into the US Army; completing basic training at Ft. Carson, Colorado, and serving two years at the US Veterinary Hospital in Ft. Ord, California, before being honorably discharged from the Army in 1960. Larry then entered the School of Pharmacy at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, in Weatherford, Oklahoma. He graduated with a degree in Pharmacy in 1963, and moved to Ft. Larry was a proud father, fast friend, and a strong member of his community; touching people's lives in ways that he may not have noticed and for which he certainly would not take credit.
