Edwin Price

The founder of Grand Junction's first newspaper, the Grand Junction News. After hiring Darwin P. Kingsley in 1882 or 1883, Price served as the newspaper's publisher while Kingsley was its editor. Later, Kingsley became the president of the New York Life Insurance Company. He then hired Price, who had quit the newspaper business and left Grand Junction. Edwin was a prominent member of Grand Junction's society for many years and involved in the establishment of the First United Methodist Church. He was also active in promoting oil shale production.
