: Elmo Lewis; Elmo Lewis was born on July 2, 1907 in Lafayette, CO to Welsh parents. Elmo went into the service for four years. After the service, he went to college in Denver and finished with a degree in accounting and finance and went to work for Delco as a Delco Engineer. Then, in 1948, Elmo began work for the Federal Housing Administration. He worked there for 25 years and was instrumental in securing the grant to build the Senior Citizen Center in Lafayette.
