: Fairy Bancroft Ryan; A country nurse in Mesa County who worked at St. Mary's Hospital in the early 1900's. She was a very large woman, and people loved her because, according to Dr. Everett "E.H." Munro, she had a heart as big as the rest of her. Later, she was a school nurse in the Glade Park area, and was very good with children. According to oral history interviewee Ruth Tilton, she also served as the librarian in the Palisade Public Library. She was the successor to Mrs. McVey and brought young people and other new people into the library.
