Father Bertram
A well-liked Catholic priest in Grand Junction, Colorado and member of the Grand Junction Lions Club. According to Frank Simonetti Jr., who attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School after 4th Grade, Bertram was a teacher there. He was apparently proficient in seven languages. He died of a heart attack in 1945 in Grand Junction.
Father Dyer
John Lewis Dyer (March 16, 1812 - June 16, 1901) preached for the Methodist Episcopal for four decades, first in Wisconsin and Minnesota, and then in the mining camps and other communities of Colorado. He became known as Father Dyer, because of his age, relative to the young prospectors of Colorado.
Fay Durham
He was born to Samuel Robert Durham and Lillian Jane (Lee) Durham in Piedmont, Missouri. His father was a lawyer. His mother was a homemaker. He moved to Pueblo, Colorado with his family in the late 1900’s. By 1916, when he was 33, he was living in Loma, Colorado. He had purchased the D.B. Bird Store, which he ran until 1954.
