Fritz Becker
He was a police officer with the Grand Junction Police Department for over 25 years, beginning in 1938 and ending in 1977. He was born in Orchard Mesa in 1906. His parents were German immigrants. Becker claimed to have been acquainted with Charles Arthur “Pretty Boy” Floyd, although he did not recognize him as the famous bank robber during the time of their acquaintance. Floyd spent a winter in Delta and the weekends in Grand Junction, where he stayed at the Grand Hotel and played pool in a saloon.

Early resident of Crested Butte, Colorado. Died in the Jokerville Mine Explosion on January 24, 1884.
