Guy Bailey
-
He served as the owner and editor for the Palisade Tribune during the 1940’s. According to William Lorenzen, who later owned the newspaper, Bailey liked to drink. He would get drunk at a local bar, then go back to his home and write scathing attacks on Eleanor Roosevelt that he published in the paper. As the story was told to Lorenzen, these attacks became so brazen that Bailey was visited by the Secret Service and told to cease and desist. Bailey sold the newspaper to Lincoln Coit and moved to Colona, where he sobered up and published an Elk’s newspaper.
