Irving Curtis Beard

He was born in Fruita to John G. Beard and Grace Emily (Curtis) Beard. His father worked as a druggist, electrician, coal loader and later raised goats on a homestead in Devil’s Canyon. His mother was a homemaker and school teacher. He had a twin brother, Wallace, and a sister, Roseltha. He attended the Hunter School and then Fruita schools. He also helped his father with homestead work. He attended Mesa College and the University of Colorado.
He married Dorothy Elizabeth Raber on July 8, 1934. They had at least two sons, including one named Charles. They homesteaded Pollock Canyon and later purchased the Flume Canyon homestead. He also taught for four years, one on Glade Park and three on Atchee, before returning to the sheep business. He moved his herds between Pinon Mesa, Leadville, and Fairplay.

Irwin Lawrence "Fry" Freiberger

Irwin "Fry" Freiberger began two years active duty in the U.S. Navy on May 24, 1956 and served aboard two ships: U.S. Chuckawan ( AO-100) and U.S. Elokomin ( AO-55 ).
He was an active member of American Legion Post 44 until his death December 14, 2010.
Fry and Harriet became residents of Routt County June, 1982
