: John Musser; He homesteaded in Escalante Canyon in Delta County, Colorado in 1885. He began a cattle ranch called the LMJ Ranch in 1885. There, he built log cabins that the family continued to live in for many years. Father of Kelso "Kel" Musser.

: John Myers; Early resident of Crested Butte, Colorado. Died in the Jokerville Mine Explosion on January 24, 1884.

: John Nichols; He started the Cameo Mine, near present-day Cameo, in 1885. According to presenters at the Panel Discussion on the History of Palisade and Cameo Mining in 1982, Nichols settled in the Fruita area with his family in 1882. After establishing the Cameo Mine, he later established coal mines near Fruita.

: John O. West; He was born in Centerville, Ohio to John L. West and Mary Ann (Ferneau) West. His father was a farmer and his mother was a homemaker. US Census records show that he grew up in Perry and Paxton, Ohio. Iowa marriage records show that he married Julia Ann Fry in Marion County, Iowa on October 12, 1875. The 1880 and 1900 US Censuses show them living in Polk, Iowa, where the family farmed. Along with many other Iowans, they moved to Palisade, Colorado in 1906, where they farmed fruit.

: John Olson; A jack-of-all-trades who ran a farm in the Third Fruitridge area of Mesa County, Colorado around the 1930’s. He was also a caretaker at a place called Norrie.
