Judge Bennett

Along with P. L. Johnson, he was a cattle rustler in Browns Park, Colorado who killed cattle on the range and sold them to the owners of a mine and smelter in the region. He operated in the 1890's and was apprehended in 1898 along with Johnson, Harry Tracy, and David Lant.

Judge Cyrus "Buck" Allen

Judge Cyrus "Buck" Allen has been Vail's (CO) municipal court judge for more than 40 years. Born and raised in Denver, Allen learned to ski at Winter Park and is a member of an avid skiing family. While still a youth, Allen began skiing in Vail during the 1962-1963 season. During the 1960s, Allen watched legends, such as Jean-Claude Killy, Karl Schranz and Billy Kidd, win races at Vail.
Buck Allen graduated from Dartmouth in 1971 with a degree in Government; he graduated from the University of Denver Law School in 1975. After working as a Deputy District Attorney in the Colorado 5th Judicial District, Allen applied for the judgeship of Vail Municipal Court in 1979. Judge Allen credits Georgetown CO Judge George Gaubatz and Gypsum CO Judge Roland "Andy" Gerard (one of the last lay judges in CO), as well as Eagle County D.A. Jack Healy, as being fine mentors.
Judge Allen enjoys playing golf and played rugby (Dartmouth, Denver Highlanders, and Vail Rugby Club) for many years, as well. A popular community persona, Judge Allen's professional legacy features a balance between fairness and firmness. Allen is also known for his fine sense of humor and spirit of generosity by those in the Vail and Eagle River Valley areas.

Judge John C. Bell

A Colorado District Court judge who intervened to protect the life of Mark Powers after he killed Charles Bear in a dispute over water rights, and a lynch mob from Delta County had assembled determined to kill Powers. So Bell mobilized deputies to protect Powers and get him out of town. Then Powers was taken from the Montrose County Jail to Ford Crawford. After that, Bell presided over Powers' trail, where Powers was convicted of murder and sentenced to death.

Judi Kiernan

A long-time Telluride resident and business owner, Judi owned the Telluride Consulting business, which she sold in 2018 (although the business continues today).
Here's a history of Telluride Consulting:
"Telluride Consulting was created in 1985 in response to the needs of the real estate community, as well as other regional professionals. For the past 31 years, the company has provided real estate professionals, builders, developers, bankers, appraisers, and individual investors with detailed information and analysis of real estate activity and trends in San Miguel County.
Telluride Consulting filled a specific niche, which continues to grow each year, by offering accurate and confidential data, regional market expertise, and personal consultation."

Judi has her Bachelors in European History from the University of Rochester. In addition to her consulting business, for many years in the early 1980's, Judi taught a 3-credit adult education course in Beginning Computer at the high school, accredited through Western State University, which launched dozens of local Telluride residents into their own businesses using these skills.
Judi also served on the Economic Development and Diversification Committee in Telluride, Colorado, in the 1980's.
Judi currently resides in Telluride, Colorado, as of 2021.
