He obtained an undergraduate degree from Colorado State University in Wildlife Biology in 1982 and then a master's in Wildlife Science at Virginia Tech in 1984. Martin is the business owner of Entrepreneurial Earth and has worked with Lafayette Open Space as their education coordinator.
